Greenfil

Description

100% biosourced thread, resulting from a partnership with Arkema. This thread was developed in the 1950s as part of a collaboration between Billion (Sofila) and Rhodia (Arkema). It was produced and marketed for about ten years before being replaced by synthetic polyamides. More recent reflections on eco-responsibility and eco-design led the two historical players to resume their collaboration to design Greenfil in the early 2010s. The thread is obtained from a polyamide 11, itself derived 100% from a natural material: castor seed. This makes it possible to obtain a 100% bio-sourced, 100% recyclable thread with technical characteristics similar to a usual synthetic polyamide. It can be dyed and used like a polyamide 6 or 66, with the same applications.
