Assembly Technology

Assembly is a very common but sometimes delicate operation, well known to Sofila teams. It involves joining two identical or different material yarns to combine their properties.

Joining the threads: : a linking and twisting technique

This operation is generally carried out on a spinning frame: a bobbin of each thread is placed and they are spun together so that a continuous thread can be received, with a twist on the final thread that joins the threads. In general, a slight twist is applied (binding operation), but it is common to then take the thread thus made and place it on a twisting machine for a twisting operation.

Assemblage

Sofila offers numerous assembly combinations sometimes using a single material to provide a thicker, more stable thread.

We talk about organzine for finer threads used for lace or clothing, or about cabled threads for technical threads with a large thread count. Assemblages of several materials make it possible to combine the properties of the threads: touch, softness, dye affinity, resistance, moisture wicking, etc.
